DPF ( Diesel Particulate Filter ), removal is the latest service available from autocare services. You may want this service for many reasons. For example -
- DPF fault causing the engine warning light to come on, a DPF problem causing your vehicle to go into limp home mode or simply you want to remove the DPF completely to save you fuel and increase the performance of your vehicle.
- A DPF removes polluting chemicals that result from diesel combustion before they reach the tailpipe and enter the atmosphere. it works similar to a catalytic converter by trapping and reheating the pollution.
- Eventually all DPFs will clog up over time and though most manufacturers claim this will not happen for a long time more and more cases are showing this is not to be the case.
Manufacturers will advise you to replace the DPF system but this a very costly procedure and could be in the excess of £1000 so this procedure is very cost effective.
